Mal revisited

Published on August 12, 2007

As further atonement for my lateness, here’s a brushed up version of Mal. More words, a bit more confidence, and what have you.

Man, it’s been forever since I’ve posted. I am very sorry. I’ll try to get back into the swing of at least a bi-weekly post. This one is new.

Been a bit longer than the unofficial week limit I’ve been allowing myself between posts, so here’s a new one.

Last Night

Published on April 27, 2007

I spent the part of the day I didn’t spend working recording stuff, mostly old, but this one came out of it. It has promise, I think.

So, in interesting news, I’ve decided to extend an open invitation to you artistic types out of the maybe 10 or so of you that visit the site. It’s tacky, but I’d like to have some kind of art to print alongside the laughably tiny EP I’m gonna be giving out in the vain hopes of getting people to actually listen to my music. To make things more fun than “PLEASE DO ME ART OKAY” I’m going to make the theme “words that don’t go together”. That’s how I tend to find images for my posts. I think of words slightly related to the song that have as little to do with each other as possible and GIS. Please make all submissions in the form of replies to this post. Beautiful Day

I record my practice time and occasionally I do something I kinda like. I have gripes with this one, but I don’t really like the other version of this song I have up here.

Hard year

Published on April 13, 2007

This one is still in its fledgling stages, badly cut, missing transitions, but I haven’t posted in a while so I thought I’d feed the internet monster.

I wanna say thanks to all of you that continue to drop by to listen. This one should be finished up inside the next week or so.

Where

Here’s a morose little diddy. It sucks outside, so you get a sad song. It’s still got a ways to go before it’s completely done, but it was a nice enough melody I thought I’d share. Sorry for the crappy ending in the file, I don’t believe in cross-cutting good parts into these if I can avoid it, this was the best single take I had, and trust me, you don’t wanna be subjected to the kind of adlibbed crap I was tossing in on the other takes.

Last Long Trip post for a while

Published on March 26, 2007

I was in Oklahoma City this weekend visiting family and some friends. It was a pretty good trip all in all, I saw a lot of the people I care about and got a chance to play a little music in the meantime. As a project to finish working all of the bugs out of the recording setup my mom cobbled together (I say cobbled, mine is more ragtag by a longshot) and the quirks of the programs involved, we recorded yet another version of the Long Trip – this time with instrumentation. Hopefully this will satisfy my need to keep recording this song for at least a little while so I can get to finishing up the other three or so for the demo.
